What is MobyMax?
It is a supplemental program which is designed to help students who are below grade-level mastery in math and/or reading.We utilize Moby Max as resource to help supplement the missing elements for each student. It is a web-based program that is aligned with grade-level standards and was also developed based upon research.
What Makes MobyMax Different From Other Intervention Programs?
A unique feature of Moby Max is the individualized and adaptive curriculum. Each student will take a placement test to determine the start of their lessons. Students individualized lessons are determined by the placement test and monthly assessments can be assigned to determine mastery. Moby Max is a research-based program that is web-based so it can be available anywhere with an internet connection. It is also aligned with the Common Core Standards for Kindergarten through Grade 8. Moby Max is unique in which parents can log onto their child's account and see the progress they are making along with the standards they have learned. Teachers have the ability to motivate their students through contests via the Moby Max website, send messages to them to motivate, and since Moby is aligned with the standards, it can be used as another approach to another assessment to indicate gains in student achievement. Teachers may also to chose to award their students for their efforts with the class reward
How is Moby Max utilized during the school day?
Moby Max is utilized throughout the day whether it is during advisory, directed studies, and the core subjects. Students, once they have completed their homework, can work on Moby Max lessons and be eligible for prizes.
What Does MobyMax Do For My Child?
Students who are involved in Moby Max, have the opportunity to attain 35 minutes a day of lessons. Once the goal is obtained, students will have the opportunity to play math and/or reading games to help solidify the skills learned earlier in the week with Moby Max. Moby Max presents information in a creative way that is hands on, minds on learning. Students progress in the program can be accelerated through their ability to apply their time to their lessons with Moby Max. Self-confidence and independence is attained through diligence and guidance of Ms. Rieff, program director and Moby Max.
